Professional Experience

Brond Graphic Design Company

Work experience in a small design team, where I helped with Logo designs, research, team
meetings, deadlines and saw first hand how to communicate and meet the client’s requirements.
Being part of a small team enabled me to interact and work on live design briefs, which gave me a personal insight into the design industry, because of this I gained confidence and contacts within the field.

Flick Flip Flick Logo

Commissioned work (organised through the University of the West of England and Aardman) where I was asked to design a logo for an educational project intended to demonstrate how to make animated flick books through a series of school workshops. The logo is used on all promotional material and the project’s website. The logo will also be used to represent Flick Flip Flick’s tour around Europe and will be part of a special exhibition in Bristol’s millennium square in summer 2011.

Wedding Photographer

Self employed photographer where I was commissioned by clients to provide photographic services for weddings. This includes organising large groups of people and working to clients’ specifications. In addition, I process the photographs for the client and present them according to the client’s wishes (i.e. wedding album or CD).

Interior Design Assistant

I assisted the professional interior designer Karen Grey, which involved hand-painting murals in a variety of environments as well as designing stencils. In addition, I was required to communicate effectively with customers and offer specialist advice where necessary.

Leyland St Marys Secondary School

I was commissioned by the school to design and paint three large murals for the walls in the school.

Employment History

Game Shop Assistant

Working on the shop floor I have experience dealing with customers face-to-face; meeting their needs and efficiently resolving any issues they may be seeking help with. This role also required me to become knowledgeable with regards to games software and disseminate this information in a clear manner to customers and other members of staff.

RAC Call Centre

Working as part of a large team supporting customers and selling European breakdown cover over the phone. I was also required to become fluent in specialized company software and be able to use their databases on a daily basis.

Voluntary and Work Experience

Cardiff University

I was asked, on a voluntary basis, to design the poster, flyer and ticket for Cardiff University’s 2009 postgraduate ball. This involved communicating with a client, meeting their specifications and working to a short deadline.

Poster/Logo/Card design

Outside of education, I design posters, logos and cards for friends and family using a variety of medium including Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator as well as hand paintings, drawings and photographs

Personal and Key Skills

Competent user of Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, Indesign, Muse and Dreamweaver (including limited experience of Final Cut Pro and Flash).

Confident user of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Internet and email on both Mac and PC.

Experienced photographer and a confident user of darkrooms and the development of black and white films and photographs.

Experienced user of different printing techniques including screen print, collograph and lino printing.

Excellent communication skills and experience of presenting work to groups.

Possess a full clean UK driving license.

My main interests are art and graphic design and I especially enjoy going to exhibitions, which keeps me informed on the latest in the art industry. I am an active person and enjoy walking and shopping. In my free time I also like to go and watch the latest films at the cinema, especially Tim Burton and Disney films.
